Positions
We have may needs in the BCVD, and many positions available for new members. Everyone brings something special to the table that can benefit the group as a whole.
BFO
(Basic Field Operator)
Basic Field Operator is the true beginning to becoming response ready within the group. Everyone is highly encouraged to obtain at a minimum a BFO qualification.
AFO
(Advanced Field Operator)
An Advanced Field Operator qualification shows that a member has the necessary knowledge, skills and equipment to be response ready. AFO status also shows that a member is willing to take steps to become a more valuable resource to the group.
REAPER
(Readiness Emergency & Preparedness Expeditionary Response)
The REAPER tab is the brainchild of one of our Military Veterans, Its main goal is to help enhance a members personal foundation. The REAPER tab is to be earned by meeting a set of standards. These standards have been set up to help build character, integrity and perseverance. It also shows that an individual has what it takes to go above and beyond that of what is expected. This award is not easy.
Support Specialist
Everyone is considered a Support Specialist until they have found their proper place in the group. These personnel will be around to provide insight to other units as well as other valuable skills.
Medical Specialist
Medical Specialists must show proficiency in their craft. MS's must also be willing to teach common core medical techniques and skills to other members.
Communications Specalist
A Comm Specialist must be willing to explore and learn. Must be able to instruct personnel in various aspects of primary, alternate and field expedient communication options. Must be willing to advise the group on equipment , operational procedures, frequencies, and OPSEC procedures.
